We don't write here how you get to Fiji. You could fly, come by boat or canoe - only the most robust will be able to swim.

However, we will tell you how to travel from both Nadi (where the international airport is) and Suva, the capital of Fiji.

How to get to us

From Nadi
From Suva
Navua or Pacific Harbour to Beqa Island

From Nadi

By public bus

You can get various express buses (e.g. Pacific Transport) from the Nadi Bus Station; the trip takes approx. 3.5 hours. Daytime there is virtually every hour a bus leaving from Nadi; with these normal buses expect the trip to take approx. 5 hours. For a one-way trip you should budget around F$15. Make sure to ask the driver if the bus stops in either Pacific Harbour or Navua Town.

By (air-conditioned) tourist coach

Companies like UTC (phone 6722811 24-hours), TT (tollfree 0800 6720455) and Sun Tours offer daily transport from Nadi Airport, major hotels in Nadi to resorts on the Coral Coast and, ultimately, Suva. Just tell them that you would like to be dropped off at Navua Town. One-way per person approx. F$30 - 40 per person.

By taxi

Taxis in Fiji are an affordable means of transportation. Taxis with a black "T" on the number plate sometimes operate as so-called 'running cabs'. The price for hiring an entire running cab from Nadi to Suva is currently F$60. Just for one seat you would pay F$15. A 'normal' taxi from Nadi charges more, approx. F$100. Alternatively, you also can use so-called 'hire cabs' which have a green "H" on the number plate. However, make sure you agree to the fare with the driver (some try to overcharge tourist).

Last but not least: mini-vans are operating from the Nadi Bus Station. They usually charge the same amount as running cabs. Only drawback: the licensing is not yet properly regulated, some vans won't have third party insurance.

By rental car

In Nadi Airport or Nadi Town you can rent a car from several international operators like Avis, Hertz, Budget, or from local companies (Central, Khans, Sharmas (Phone 6721908). Rent depends on model and how many days you are renting. Expect to pay at least F$60 per day, fuel and full insurance not included.

By plane or helicopter

Island Hoppers offer helicopter services out of Nadi. They charge US$85 per hour. Turtle Airways and Pacific Island Seaplanes are servicing Beqa Island with their seaplanes. Contact them directly for pricing.

Regular planes fly from Nadi Airport to Nausori Airport. Contact carriers like Air Pacific (phone 6722272) or Air Fiji (phone 3315055). Return flights are less than F$200, however you will need to travel to Navua by bus or taxi.

From Suva

By public bus

All regular and express buses operate from the Suva Bus Stand. The fare is less than F$4 to Navua Town.

By (air-conditioned) tourist coach

Sun Tours, UTC and Tourist Transport (TT) offer daily transport from major Suva hotels. Just tell them that you would like to be dropped off at Navua Town. One-way per person approx. F$20.

By taxi

'Running cabs" taxis are normally not interested in the short run from Suva to Navua Town. You could hire a regular cab and agree a fare with the driver. If he/she leaves the taxi meter on, expect to pay around F$30 (you can negotiate with the driver to have a flat-rate). Some minibus operators may want to take you for F$5. They can be found in Robertson Road, opposite of the Suva Bus Stand.

By rental car

All companies listed under 'From Nadi" also have offices in Suva.

By plane or helicopter

The same companies that operate from Nadi also offer helicopter or seaplane services to Beqa Island. Contact them directly for prices.

Navua or Pacific Harbour to Beqa Island

An irregular local boat service from Navua to Beqa Island exists. The boat leaves usually at 12.00 but you should be there by 11.30 the latest. One way price per person is F$15 (but at least F$20 if only one person wants to come to us; the reason is that the boat owner has to make a larger stretch around Beqa and thus has additional fuel cost). It is a good idea to give us first a call to find out dates and time and to make your reservation. Note: no local boat service on Sundays!

We can offer boat transfer with our own covered and fully equipped (VHF radio, lights, safety gear) aluminum boat. It has a 85hp engine and can easily accommodate seven adults.

With our boat we can pick up guest from either "Kumarans Restaurant" - situated 100 meters west of the Pacific Harbour police post or at the jetty at Navua town.

The boat trip usually takes between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on wind, tide and type of boat.
